Man Shots an Alligator that Attacked His Dog

A man from Florida shot an 8-foot ling alligator after the reptile attacked his dog at their Deltona home. According to the unidentified man, he had to act quickly before his chocolate Labrador retriever takes more injury. The reptile latched on the head of the dog and luckily it only suffered a puncture wound in the ear. Alligator and human interactions are very common in the state because of the large number of these animals living in the state’s freshwater. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission provides guidelines on how to safely co-exist with these animals. This include never feed them, keeping a safe distance, and don’t swim in areas known to have alligators. If necessary, call the authorities if an alligator poses threat to humans.
